UK Government delays Fuel duty hike
Published: 29/06/2012
The UK Government has delayed the 3p hike in fuel duty until January next year.
Tax currently makes up around 60% of the fuel pump price and the latest announcement will cause a wave of relief amongst consumers.
Adam Walsh, Be Fuelcards Marketing and Sales Manager, commented ‘I know that this decision will be welcomed by our customers. Even a small hike such as this one can affect businesses struggling with the current economic climate. This further highlights the benefits of using a BP fuel card to pay for your vehicle fuelling; HMRC approved invoicing which can reduce your accountancy and administration costs, allowing businesses to get on with money generating activities.’
